WordPress x Lightspeed – updated to 5.6.2

As per our best practice, this release has been automatically updated for WordPress x Lightspeed customers. Self-managed customers are strongly encouraged to upgrade to this version. Please be advised that as of today, February 22 2021, the WordPress containers that are Managed by Lightspeed have all been upgraded from version WordPress 5.6.1. to version 5.6.2. We have retired WordPress 5.6.1. series across all customers.


For Self-Managed customers, go to Dashboard → Updates and click Update Now.

Security Updates:

This maintenance release features 5 bug fixes. These bugs affect WordPress version 5.6.1.

WordPress Core changes on Trac:

  • #52440: Prevent the “Leave site” browser alert in Classic Editor when post title, excerpt, or post content fields are missing.
  • #52018: Avoid a fatal error in PHP 8.0 when the “zip” PHP extension is disabled.

Block editor changes from GitHub and Trac:

  • #52396: Image options are not visible in pop up when the clicking replace button from Image block.
  • #52449: Can’t change font size the 5.6.1 paragraph block.
  • GH-26583: Restore block preview within the block inserter.
